National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception.

Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.  Exclusive membership requires a minimum grade point average, no discipline referrals and participation in community service projects.  Members are inducted in seventh grade and serve in the organization during their eighth-grade year.  Membership requires an application.

Woodlawn Beach Middle School has an active NJHS chapter.  Our members are an integral part of the Northwest Florida community, working to nurture organizations such as The Miracle League.  Our members have initiated and executed major beach cleanups, have partnered with local groups to serve the underserved and are genuinely invested in making our community a better place.

Currently the club meets twice a month. The next cohort will be inducted in May 2025.
